Good morning!
This past week in Earth Science, We completed the Biosphere unit with a poster project on invasive species and a lesson on alternative foods for the future. Students tested over this unit on Thursday.
This coming week, Students will be learning about Earth’s role in space, while we study Astronomy. There will be a station rotation for all of the unit vocabulary words. They will use hands on manipulatives and activities.

Good morning!
This past week in Earth Science, Students learned about and discussed Landfills and Solid Waste, Energy/Energy Resources, Climate Change/Global Warming through a climate change station activity, and today will begin learning about Invasive Species by doing research and creating posters. Part 2 is due today. This is a Test grade.
This coming week, Students will complete the poster assignment on Invasive Species, Ecosystem Basics, and alternative food sources for the future. We will review and have the Unit test on Thursday December 14th.

Good morning!
This past week in Earth Science, we began our unit on the Biosphere and Human Impact. Students learned about Ocean Acidification, the Carbon and Nitrogen Cycles, Populations in our ecosystems: (including adaptations and survival), and Human impact on our ecosystems. Part 1 of the NASA Vital Signs Project was due today. Part 2 is due on Friday 12/8 (I extended the due dates)

Good morning!
I have noticed that many students have not been turning in assignments. Please check PowerSchool periodically to see if your student owes any work. We had a catch up day yesterday, but several students still owe work.
This past week in Earth Science, we reviewed for the Atmosphere test and completed the test on Thursday. We began the NASA Project for Quarter 2
This coming week, we will work on the NASA Vital Signs Project. No school Wednesday-Friday. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Good morning!
This past week in Earth Science, we closed out Quarter 1 and began Unit 4: Atmosphere and Weather. We will cover the layers of the atmosphere, weather, relative humidity, and El Nino and La Nina.
This coming week, we will cover El Nino/La Nina, Cyclonic Storms, Hurricanes, Air Masses, and Climate.
Important Dates
Quarter 1 ends today 10/27. The last grades for Quarter 1 are the Hydrosphere Unit test and the Research Project Presentation. Quarter 2 begins with the Atmosphere.
Wednesday 11/1 is a Teacher Work Day/No student day
Thursday 11/9 Report Card/Parent-Teacher Conference Night

Good morning!
This past week in Earth Science, we had the Unit 3 quiz on the hydrologic cycle, rivers, and water pollution on Wednesday and have been working on projects and an essay on waterborne diseases. The Q1 project presentation which is due October 20th and is worth a test grade.
This coming week, we will continue Unit 3 with Estuaries, differential heating, ocean currents, and thermohaline convection. There will be a review on Thursday and the last unit test for Quarter 1 on Friday.

Good afternoon!
This past week in Earth Science, we had the Unit 2 test over the Lithosphere. Students began their Q1 project presentation which is due October 20th. Today we began Unit 3: The Hydrosphere discussing the Hydrologic Cycle and Rivers.
This coming week, we will continue Unit 3 with Water Pollution, Glaciers, Bottled Water, and Estuaries. There will be 2 hands-on activity labs.
