Meet Ms. Maingi

Ms. Maingi teaches 7-4 ELA and has been a valued member of our Lufkin Road family for nearly two years. Before joining us, she taught at two different high schools in North Carolina and South Carolina. When asked about her favorite part of working at Lufkin, she expressed that the staff is incredibly supportive and always willing to help one another. It’s clear that we all appreciate the amazing team of people who contribute to our school's positive environment.

Here are some fun facts you might not know about Ms. Maingi. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Secondary Education. In her free time, she enjoys baking and listening to Taylor Swift. Additionally, she has a sister who is currently in high school.

When I inquired about what school rule she would implement if given the chance, she mentioned that she would ensure everyone has the opportunity to go outside more. After all, who doesn't love some fresh air?

I also asked her what inspired her to become a teacher, and she shared that being the oldest of five kids, she has always loved reading and writing. Teaching and leading came naturally to her.

Ms. Maingi is a treasured member of our Lufkin Road community. As a natural-born learner and leader, she inspires us all to strive for excellence. Lufkin wouldn’t be the same without her!
