Meet Mr. Shaw
He is a proud Buffalo native and lifelong Bills fan (with unwavering faith in Josh Allen), brings energy and heart to every lesson. He’s passionate about history, especially World War II, which holds personal significance since both his grandfathers served in the Pacific. His favorite moments as a teacher come when students connect the past to their own lives, whether through family stories or experiences at historic sites. Beyond the classroom, Mr. Shaw is a dedicated father. One of the greatest challenges he's faced has been caring for his son, who has overcome serious health issues with strength and resilience. That love and perseverance shape everything Mr. Shaw brings to his students: empathy, dedication, and perspective. One of his most memorable years of teaching was when he had the unique experience of having his daughter in his class—a moment he’ll always treasure. Whether he's coaching, traveling to Washington D.C. with students, or reminiscing about growing up playing sports with friends, Mr. Shaw reminds us that real teaching comes from both the head and the heart
