Tanya Churchill

Digital Learning Coordinator

Wake County Public School System

Let me introduce myself to you.

I am originally from Western New York and graduated from SUNY Brockport with a BS Degree in Health Science and a Pre-K-6 teaching certification. I moved to North Carolina in 1996 and spent my first years here in a preschool setting; first as a lead teacher and later as a director. My work in the public school setting began in 2000. Since then I have been an educator for the WCPSS as a 4th grade teacher, science specialist, Instructional Technology Facilitator and now a Digital Learning Coordinator where I am able to collaborate more closely with educators to help them discover new areas of interest and develop confidence in new skills.

I obtained the Special Endorsement in Computer Education certification from ECU in 2016. I am also a Google for Education Certified Trainer, a Google for Education Certified Educator Level 1 and 2 as well as a Flipgrid Certified Educator Level 3 Grid Guide and Flipgrid Student Voice Ambassador. My inspiration comes from those who challenge me to explore unfamiliar and intriguing resources. This is how I got my jump start into a passion for minecraft for education, coding, robotics, GSuite, and makerspaces. I love to learn as much as I love to coach!
