Seniors or Super Seniors, do you have a weighted GPA of 2.8 or above and meet the NC College Connect requirements, then you are already admitted to college through NC College Connect — no essays or test scores needed!
NC College Connect directly admits North Carolina public high school seniors to select UNC System universities, North Carolina independent colleges and universities, and their local North Carolina community college, where they already meet admissions requirements. It’s that simple.
How does it work? Eligible students will be notified by the start of the school year with an official letter and directed to visit the NC College Connect portal. From there, students will see a complete list of colleges and universities where they’re already admitted and have the option to complete a NC College Connect form to accept their admission at the institutions of their choice. Colleges will then reach out to students with the next steps on enrollment, financial aid, and more.
Colleges and universities are directly admitting students with a simple, streamlined process that gets students where they want to be. Learn more about the process, NC College Connect requirements, and see the full list of participating schools at NCCollegeConnect.org.
If a student isn’t eligible for this program, there are still options available to pursue higher education after graduation. CFNC.org offers numerous resources to explore North Carolina colleges and financial aid options.
NC Countdown to College (C2C) kicks off in October; it’s a year-long initiative where we encourage you to complete the following three steps in college enrollment: residency, financial aid, and college applications. Many North Carolina colleges and universities participate in C2C by waiving application fees during College Application Week, October 20-26, 2025. NC Countdown to College | CFNC
