Grading Policy

Student quarter grades will be calculated based on the following:

Tests – 50%

• Tests are cumulative and will increase in weight throughout the quarter. The weights will add up to a total of 50% but the increasing weight for each test allows student responsibility for major assessments to grow as well.

Unit Assignments – 45%

• Unit Assignments include classwork/ homework, labs, etc.

Content Literacy – 5%

• Content Literacy will be comprised of weekly vocabulary quizzes.

Student final grades will be calculated based on the following:

• First Quarter – 40%
• Second Quarter – 40%
• EOC – 20%

Extra Credit Policy

Students will have the opportunity to complete credit recovery assignments to make up for missed points on tests twice each quarter.

Late Work Policy

Students may turn in late work with a reduction of five points per day it is late. Students have until the last week of the quarter to complete missed assignments, test, quizzes, etc. Students are expected to complete work they miss when they are absent. Being absent for a lab will be considered a missed learning opportunity unless an online/virtual lab is available.
