The Hour System
NHS operates on an hour-based system. Events will be of standardized sizes (Ex: 1 hour, 30 min), and we will track hours completed. We have 1 category of hours. ​
Service Hours
Service hours include all other forms of volunteer work. NHS has a service hour requirement that must be met with inside hours, or a combination of inside and outside hours.
Over the course of the year, each NHS Member is expected to complete at least 30 hours of service.

Members who don't complete summer hours can complete additional non-sponsored hours
10 required Club-Sponsored Hours
NHS will host and condone certain events and opportunities, volunteering at these counts towards your sponsored hours.

For the 2025-2026 year, in order to submit hours, you must fill out the service hours tracking form, get it signed by a chaperone/volunteer coordinator, and email it to jbecerrilortiz@wcpss.com.
Hours Requirements
Service Hours: You must earn at least 25 service hours a year, of which a maximum of 5 hours may be outside hours.
