About Mr. Kasse
I grew up in Southern California going to the beach, playing tennis, soccer, and baseball. I graduated from Long Beach State University with a degree in History. I moved to Florida, went to law school, and decided to be a teacher. My teaching career started with Eckerd Youth Alternatives, a residential, wilderness school. In addition to history I taught my students how to hike, canoe, traverse a ropes course, and to appropriately deal with real life problems. During this time I earned my Masters Degree in Special Education, and after 10 years of creating new positions, programs, and camps with Eckerd I joined the Wake County Public School System. My first school was Leesville High School where I was a special education teacher and tennis coach for 7 years. I transferred to Heritage Middle School and continued to teach special education. After 4 years at Heritage I helped to open Rolesville Middle School. This is my seventh year as a Social Studies teacher and look forward to sharing my experiences and passion for history with your kids.
I am married to a teacher, and I have three great kids; a graduate from NC State University, a fifth grader at Harris Creek Elementary School and an eighth grader at Heritage Middle. For fun I play and teach tennis, read, and squeeze in a little golf every now and then.
