Welcome to the Megapixels team! I am very excited to be working with all three lovely ladies below as well as our virtual family!! I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Special Education and this will be my third year teaching. I quickly found my niche as a Social Studies teacher here at RMS. I cannot wait to explore our world's history together in a whole new format. I have a huge obsession with my two dogs Sully (Irish Setter) and Chulo (Chihuahua mix). You will see and hear about them frequently throughout lessons. Those two doggies are the reason I met my wonderful boyfriend at our local dog park about 2 years ago. I am from Concord, North Carolina (home of NASCAR) that is located just outside of Charlotte. I currently live in Raleigh where you will find me at the dog park, Burn Boot Camp, or TJ Maxx.... just depends on the day!
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and support you through virtual learning. It is such an opportunity to be able to connect with students, do not be shy!
I am excited that you are on the Megapixels. This is my 25th year teaching. I am 6-8 Math/Science certified and my Master's Degree is in Science Education. I am ECU Alumni, along with my husband. My oldest son, Dawson, just started ECU as well. (Family of pirates) My youngest son, Camden is an 8th grader at WFMS. We have a chihuahua puppy, Chewie and a larger chihuahua, Phoebe and a Black tuxedo long haired cat, Jangles as well as 2 chickens, Thelma and Louise. We have lived in Wake Forest for 21 years are excited about the Wegmans opening soon near our house.
This year will definitely be a first. I am sure that we will be fine and we'll make mistakes and learn from them along the way. Please don't be shy about asking me a question or coming to visit me during my office hours. Glad to be on this journey with you.
Welcome to 7th Grade, Megapixels! I am excited to see what we can do when we all work together this year. This is my 13th year teaching math. I began my career at East Millbrook Magnet Middle School, and have been at Rolesville Middle School the past 6 years. I love teaching math; especially teaching those that initially believe they are not "math people"!
I am North Carolina born and raised. I moved to the Raleigh area to attend NC State. Outside of school, I love spending time with my family. We have recently started enjoying hiking. Here we are exploring Yates Mill Park. I am learning about Paw Patrol and constantly moving the dog bowls out of the way of this sneaky, fast crawler.
I am very excited for the new opportunities learning online will allow us to explore this year. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions or just to say hi! I can't wait to see you in "class"!
Welcome to an interesting school year! I am nervously excited about our journey together! This is my 13th year teaching Language Arts. While I spent my first year teaching high school, the rest of my career has been at the middle school level. I enjoy watching my students come up with new ways to see a text, and learning as much from them as they learn from me.
I was born and raised in Southern West Virginia, and you will quickly hear that in my accent. I attended Marshall University and earned a degree in Journalism Education. While there I met my wonderful husband--a blind date that stuck. He teaches Health and PE at Middle Creek High School and serves as the assistant athletic trainer.
We now have a 7 year old son who loves sports of all kinds. I have learned to appreciate (and enjoy) golf and hockey. In addition to being huge Marshall fans, we also support our local hockey team, the Carolina Hurricanes!
I know that this year will be very different, but we will get through it together! If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions feel free to reach out!
