The 7th Grade Social Studies classes will continue their work from 6th Grade in World History. We begin at the Age of Exploration and as we go through history, we will try to look at the development of modern societies and how conflict, thought, religion and economics have affected interactions between societies as global contact between people becomes more of a common event.
The Thinking Like a Historian unit allows seventh grade students to reflect on the concepts that they learned in sixth grade and prepare to learn more about world history through the modern era. Students will review primary and secondary sources, geographic knowledge, timelines and the importance of studying history. These skills will prepare them for the remainder of the course while also providing an opportunity to remediate and enrich prior skills.
