File Storage

As we move from laptops, be aware of the files that must be moved:

(C:) is the hard drive of the specific laptop.  (C: Users) will list all that have logged on to your computer and your stuff will save on (C:  -> users -> your name).

(H:) is your Home directory, it is the network drive that you CANNOT access off campus and will stay on the network when the laptop is reimaged.  (H:) is accessible at your school AND all WCPSS schools if they are 'single domain' schools. If you save a lot of powerpoints or pictures you will run out of space.  If you run out of room, use a flash drive or Google Drive.

(S:) is the Shared Directory for Reedy Creek Middle, but it has limited space and could easily fill. (Would someone like to clean out the old files? ;)

Google Docs in WCPSS gives you a huge amount of space and will stay with you forever.  You CAN save pictures there, upload images like you upload .docs, .pdf, and .xls files!

Software:

• You may download one program at a time, like SMART, VLC, and Letterland. From the search bar in the bottom left of Windows, type in "Software Center "and it will give you all options. 

• Very IMPORTANT: One program at a time, and let it finish loading before you leave campus. OR, leave it loading on campus, with the laptop open and on.

• If you close it while a program is loading, it might corrupt the file, so take your time and load the app fully before leaving  campus or shutting the laptop.
