Purpose of AIG Services

The AIG program provides an appropriately challenging education for students who perform, or show potential for performing, at remarkably high levels of accomplishment when compared to their peers. The goal for gifted education is to provide opportunities for the fullest development of each learner’s potential.

Mensa for Kids TED Connections- Select your choice of many interesting TED talk topics and watch the video. Discussion questions and extension activities are provided for each video.

Nominations

Parents, students, or teachers may nominate a student to be considered for AIG services. Once nominated, our School Based Committee for Gifted Education will review each student’s formal and informal indicators to determine if the student should be referred for evaluation. Send an email to kjames@wcpss.net with your child’s name, your name, contact information, and any information that you feel would be helpful to the committee.


Sixth Grade ELA Enrichment


AIG enrichment sessions will start at the beginning of September. AIG students will receive a pass from their Discovery teacher with the date and location.
