My name is Rich Gray, better known as "Coach Gray" to your students. I am a native of Northwest Pennsylvania and moved to North Carolina in August 2007 after accepting a PE position with WCPSS. I have been working for the WCPSS for the past 14 years at various elementary schools throughout the district. I was honored to be awarded Teacher of the Year in 2019. This is my second year teaching at RCES. I graduated from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's of Science in Education. I also received my Master's degree from SRU in Athletic Administration while working as a Graduate Assistant in the PE department. Upon graduation, I worked at a YMCA for 12 years holding various positions, including Interim Executive Director, before moving to NC. I have been happily married for the past 27 years to my high school sweetheart. We have 2 children who are presently in college. My daughter is in the Doctoral program for Physical Therapy at ECU. My son attends UNCW where he is majoring in Business Analytics. My main hobbies include playing basketball, slalom water-skiing, boating with my family, landscaping/mowing my lawn, going to car shows and playing fantasy football with my son's college friends. I am super excited to to be apart of the RCES family. I look forward to meeting you and your child/children.
