Welcome to 6th Grade Math, where your mindset will make all the difference this year! 

Growing up, the subject that I had to work the hardest in was math.  I had teachers that taught the concepts in math, but not the "why" behind it.  The "why" helps students to connect and understand the process and allows them to think deeply and reason through not only math, but even problems presented in life.  I became a teacher because I wanted students to love the subject that I struggled to make a real connection with.  It has been my goal to approach math differently by teaching the "why" behind the skill.  

I have been teaching for 27 years, and this is my third year at Rolesville Middle School.  In addition to  teaching, I like to spend time with my husband, 3 grown children, my grandson and my granddaughter.  I love traveling, Amazon shopping, and reading a good novel... did I mention Amazon shopping!! 

I was born in California and grew up in Virginia Beach.  Every chance I get, I make my way to the oceanfront.  I am a proud two time graduate of Norfolk State University.
