Talent Development is a new Nurturing Program for grades 4-8 in WCPSS as of the 2019-2020 school year. As the program is rolled out, there may be updates to the it. I will update this page if and/or when updates are made. Please see below for a current overview of the program.
Talent Development (TD) students are defined by being high performing students that show the potential for AIG identification and/or that have high performing characteristics as outlined in the nomination process. Talent Development students must have gone through the Nomination Process for AIG identification and have data that supports being referred for AIG testing. Talent Development students have a need for challenge and enriching opportunities. These students should be identified, but aren’t captured through traditional methods such as standardized testing. A student can be identified for TD services in Math and/or Reading
Students in the TD program are served alongside students in the AIG program. This could be in an in-class and/or pull-out program.
