What is PBIS? Positive Behavior Intervention and Support

“…a framework or approach comprised of intervention practices and organizational systems for establishing the social culture, learning and teaching environment, and individual behavior supports needed to achieve academic and social success for all students.”

Key Components at Banks Road

  • Blazer Bucks: Given to individual students by adults

  • Compass Coins: Given to classrooms by anyone including homeroom teacher

  • Expectations posted in every classroom: Developed by teacher and/or students. These list ways that the students can “Be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe.

  • Trading Post: Every Wednesday the Trading Post is posted and students can trade their Blazer Bucks for various items.
