Hi! My name is Ms. Schram, and I am excited to welcome you to 7th grade!
This is your only 7th-grade year, so let’s make it awesome—full of learning, fun, and memories you’ll never forget!
Here are a few things about me:
This is my 16th year teaching. I have taught 5th grade (all subjects) as well as 6th and 7th grade ELA and Social Studies. I am originally from Michigan, where I attended Michigan State University.
When I’m not teaching, you can find me spending time with my adorable dog, Luke.
I’m looking forward to a great year together!

Hi! My name is Mrs. Amos, and I’m excited to be part of your 7th-grade year!
I have been teaching history for 10 years and love helping students learn about the past in meaningful and engaging ways.
I am also a proud mom to a kindergartener and a toddler. After school, you can usually find me in the gym coaching the cheer team.
Outside of school, I enjoy hiking, cooking, and relaxing with a good TV show.
I’m looking forward to a great year together!

Hi! My name is Mr. Smith, and I’m excited to be part of your 7th-grade year!
This will be my fifth year teaching middle school, and I’m looking forward to learning and growing alongside you this year.
I’m originally from Vermont and earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont. I’m currently working on my master’s degree at NC State—though I have to admit, I’m a UNC fan at heart!
Outside of school, I love coffee, cheering for the New England Patriots, and exploring the food scene around Raleigh and Durham. At home, I live with my fiancé, Madison, and our two cats, Milo and Winston, who always keep things interesting.
I’m looking forward to a fantastic year filled with curiosity, collaboration, and new discoveries!

Hi! My name is Mr. Pier, and I am a Social Studies teacher at Mills Park Middle School. I am dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of history, geography, and current events. My goal is to help students make meaningful connections between the past and the present, preparing them to be thoughtful and informed global citizens.
In addition to my work in the classroom, I coach both the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams, where I emphasize teamwork, discipline, and personal growth. I’m excited for the opportunity to support students both academically and athletically throughout the school year.
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education.”
— Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Hi! My name is Mr. Halvas, and I’m excited to be part of your 7th-grade year!
I’m originally from Long Island, New York, where I spent much of my childhood before moving to Wake Forest, North Carolina with my family. I graduated from Heritage High School (Go Huskies!!!), where I was a varsity athlete in cross country, wrestling, and track and field. I later attended East Carolina University (Go Pirates!!!).
A few things about me: I’m a huge movie nerd, so you can definitely expect plenty of movie references in my class! I love music of all genres and often go to concerts. I’m also an avid runner and usually run 3 to 5 days a week.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Bruce, and traveling—especially going on cruises to the Caribbean or visiting national parks out west.
Fun fact: I once met MrBeast in a Walmart!
I’m looking forward to a great year together!
