Welcome to North Campus Science Academic Assistance
Academic Assistance (AA) is a support class designed to assist Wake Early College students in their efforts to earn transferable college credit in science courses at Wake Technical Community College (WTCC). Science AA supplements the instruction, coursework, and information provided by WTCC faculty, as well as resources available through WTCC support services. It is critical that WECHS students recognize that science AA is not a substitute or replacement for engaging with WTCC instructors, completing assigned coursework, and seeking assistance from WTCC support services.
Benefits
Provides targeted instruction for academic skills needed to be successful in college science courses.
Establish a consistent, dedicated time to work individually and/or collaboratively to complete assignments and prepare for exams.
Allows for one-on-one tutoring with AA instructor and peer instruction with classmates.
Provides an opportunity for AA instructor to give feedback on lab reports and help with revisions, as well as peer editing from classmates.
Allows for communication and networking among WECHS students regarding assignments due dates and exam schedules.
General Guidelines for Student Success in WTCC Science Courses
