About Me

My name is Michelle Y. Smith and I was born and raised in Miami, FL until age 16, when I moved to Oxford, NC. As for my family background, my mom and that side of the family is from Venezuela and my dad and that side of the family is from Cuba. After high school, I attended The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill for undergrad and for graduate school. I have worked as a school social worker in WCPSS since the 2014-2015 school year. A cool fact is that I actually interned at Mt. Vernon MS my first year in grad school. My second year, I interned at Dorothea Dix Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic.
