Meet the Teachers

Mrs. Rose | Teacher

This is the start of my 10th year teaching and it will be my sixth year in Kindergarten. I moved to North Carolina in the fall of 2018 and that is when I started teaching at Turner Creek! I have previously taught 1st and 2nd grade. I have been on every track at Turner Creek except for Track 2!

Before moving to North Carolina I was living and teaching in my hometown, Annapolis! It is a beautiful sailing town and I love to go back and visit whenever I can. Maryland is also where I attended Towson University for college - Go Tigers!

I currently live in Raleigh with my husband, Justin. We are about to celebrate our 1 year anniversary! We have a 4-year-old golden retriever named Wrangler and a 1-year-old golden named Reese. Fun fact, Wrangler and Reese have the same dog dad! Justin is a Civil Engineer and works downtown Raleigh. As a family, we love to go hiking at Umstead or walk around at the Art Museum. I also enjoy working out, reading, getting a mani-pedi, trying new restaurants, going to the beach, and watching movies.

I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us! Kindergarten is the BEST!

Mrs. Sachon | Instructional Assistant

I have been an Instructional Assistant at Turner Creek for 14 years, 13 of them in Kindergarten...wow, where do the years go?!?

I have been married for 32 years to my wonderful husband, Mike Michel. We met while studying at Clemson University, Go Tigers! We both graduated in Engineering. I majored in Material Engineering and worked in glass and optic fiber research. Mike is a Computer Engineer in Creedmore, and also loves dabbling in many projects at home too.

When we had kids, I was lucky enough to be able to stay home. My kids were born in MD, we moved to NJ, and finally moved to Apex! I began volunteering at their schools then and eventually started working here at Turner Creek. Now my kids are grown, again...how?? My daughter Gabrielle is a Chemical Engineer in Toledo, Ohio and my son Conner is a Software Developer near Charlotte. This past year I became an Omi (grandmother)! So we like to travel to visit them whenever we can! We are so proud of them!!

As for me, I love shopping, crafting, and spending time with Mike and my friends. Oh, I love going to the beach too! 

I'm so excited to get to know your kindergartener and help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally this year! This is such a special time for your child and I am honored to be a part of their journey here at TCE!
