Students will have the opportunity to recover points missed on designated assignments as outlined by teachers' individual Point Recovery Plans.
These Point Recovery Plans will be provided by teachers to students at the start of the school year.
Offered for major assessments at the teacher's discretion when a student earns below 70% on the assessment
Students may earn UP TO a 70%
Available one time per assessment
Students may be required to complete additional tasks in order to recover points
According to school policy, students have 2 days to make up their work for every day absent. Work assigned while your child was in school is still expected to be submitted on the original deadline. Long-term projects are expected to be turned in on the day a student returns from an absence. Special consideration will be given in the cases of extended absences. Please contact me if you feel there are extenuating circumstances!
Please encourage your child to check our Google Classroom and current unit calendars to see what was covered in class and what assignments need to be made up.
Personal devices are occasionally used in the classroom. However, students are by no means required to bring a device with them to class. Teachers will have a limited number of devices for students to use when necessary. Sharing of these devices may result based on numbers, so having a personal device at times often makes digital learning a bit easier.
** Please note: For BYOD purposes, a cell phone is not considered to be a device to be used to support instruction while in class.
Parking - There will be a place where personal devices can be "parked" during class. Devices should be silenced and locked when parked.
BYOD Green Days - Personal device is allowed with teacher permission during class.
BYOD Red Days - No personal devices allowed to be used during class.
Take a look at DDMS's BYOD policy in the Student Handbook for more information regarding using personal devices in the classroom.
Students will be allowed to use the restroom during class following these procedures:
Ask politely to excuse yourself
Sign-out on the "Bathroom Log" clipboard at the Utensil Station
Be quiet and respectful in the hallways when traveling to and from the bathroom
Sign back in once you have returned
Students will be able to sign-out a laptop to use when designated during class. The sign-out sheet can be found on top of the cart itself.
Laptops should be treated with care! We are very fortunate that we have an entire cart to use, so please be careful when using them.
Students will be expected to follow the Wake County Public School System dress code.
