You made it! You are officially in the world of 7th grade, and I am so excited to be one of your teachers you will have on this journey. I will be your 7th grade mathematics teacher this school year. My classroom is built on the idea that ANYONE and EVERYONE can do math and I hope by the end of the school year you all will feel the same.
ABOUT ME:
I went to NC State University 🐺
When I was earning my degree in mathematics education I completed my student teaching HERE at Mills Park with the 6th grade math teachers
I have 7 brothers and sisters!
I coach the MPMS Cheer Team alongside Coach Amos 🐆
I am so excited to learn with you this school year as we grow our amazing math skills!
The Daily Learning Log (DLL) will tell you what we did in class, what is for homework, and have additional resources for the lesson taught that day for the ENTIRE unit. Test dates and more are also listed on there.
All Unit DLL's (past and current) are linked on my Canvas homepage for students to use.
Parents, if you would like to see the Daily Learning Logs please have your child show you them on their Canvas or you can use your Parent Canvas account to access them as well.
Homework is how students practice the skills taught to them in class to reinforce the concepts out of the classroom. Additionally it allows them to be prepared for the next day's lesson.
At the beginning of each week, students will be given a Math Homework Agenda Sheet that will have the homework listed for each night. Homework is completed in the unit workbooks or on the given worksheet paper. Students must show their work on each problem and a full effort attempt. Homework is assigned DAILY and expected to be completed by class the next day.
*Students must have the homework for that week completed by the end of the week in order to receive full credit. After that, students can earn half credit for late homework up until the day of the unit test, interims/end of quarter (whichever comes first).
We will be using Delta Math this year to continue supporting students math skills outside of the classroom. This is where our supplemental weekly SMARTBlock Math Assignments will be.
Please use your WakeID portal to go to Delta Math OR go to the Delta Math Website and login with your WCPSS Google Account.
We will be using IXL Math this year to continue supporting students math skills outside of the classroom On each unit's Daily Learning Log I have linked skills from IXL that will help reinforce student learning on the exact topic we learned in class that day. This is also a great tool for students to stay on pace with the material if absent.
Please use your WakeID portal to go to IXL Math. THEN click the links on the DLL to practice the skills for each unit.
