Welcome to AIG/Enrichment/Nurturing!
I hope each of you are healthy and safe. I am grateful to be a part of the Adams Aviator's team again this year and especially to be with each of you for AIG, Enrichment, or Nurturing! There are a variety and multitude of learning experiences that I am excited to share with each of you throughout the year! I am hopeful that this website and your child's AIG/Enrichment/Nurturing CANVAS course will be a resource for community outreach, school and county updates as well as academic and personal growth opportunities throughout the year. Please check for updates on this website, in your child's AIG/Enrichment/Nurturing CANVAS course, and the parent/guardian email you have provided to me on a regular basis. Please do not hesitate to email me, jschuman@wcpss.net with any questions or concerns. Please follow me on Twitter for relevant information. I look forward to our year together!
What is AIG?
The purpose of the Academically and/or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) Program is to provide an appropriately challenging educational program for students who perform, or show potential for performing, at remarkably high levels of accomplishment when compared to others of their age, experience, or environment. Academically and/or Intellectually Gifted students exhibit high performance capability in intellectual areas, specific academic fields, or in both intellectual areas and specific academic fields. Academically and/or Intellectually Gifted students require differentiated educational services beyond those ordinarily provided by the regular educational program. Outstanding abilities are present in students from all cultural groups, across all economic strata, and in all areas of human endeavor.
