Grading: I will be following the MPMS Grading Policy as posted on the MPMS website. You will have quizzes, tests, labs, projects, homework, and in-class activities (class work) to complete during the year. The entire 7th grade will be based on a point system. Student averages are calculated by the total points earned divided by the total possible points. You will receive an interim once a quarter to help you monitor your grades. You may view your grades at any time on PowerSchool.
Late Work: Late work will be accepted (see MPMS policy). Zeros will be placed in my grade book until the work is handed in. All work must be in to be eligible to participate in PBIS celebrations. There will be a final deadline to have all missing assignments turned in prior to the end of a unit. Please check your grades in PowerSchool on a regular basis to see what you may be missing.
Extra Credit: No extra credit will be offered this year at Mills Park Middle. There may be point recovery questions on quizzes and tests as noted in the MPMS grading policy
Leopard Time: Be sure to use your time effectively. If you need help in science, you should plan to come during this time. Extra help will be offered on a designated day of the week for each subject (subject to change). During Leopard Time you may be asked to attend another class, retake a test, or work on assignments. During the year, lessons will be given during Leopard Time as well as opportunities for enrichment.
Test Corrections: You will be able to make corrections on any test on which you scored below 70% and have completed the study guide (see MPMS policy). I will work with your student if they need to complete test corrections.
Contact Information: If you would like to set up a conference with me, please email me.
