Meet the teacher

About me: 

I am originally from Rocky Mount, NC and graduated from Northern Nash High School. I have been involved in the band world for MANY years. My husband is an IT professional with Capital Ford and we have 4 children, ages 23, 21, 20 and 16.

I have been a band director for 23 years and my primary instrument is trumpet, although I can play them all with middle school proficiency. I love Starbucks and 80s music! Downton Abbey is my favorite TV show. My favorite book series is the "He who Fights with Monsters" by Shirtaloon.

Education:

I attended East Carolina University for both of my undergraduate and graduate degrees in music education. 

I achieved National Board Certification in 2006.

In 2021, I earned my administrative add-on certification from Gardner-Webb University.
