I was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, and began my teaching career as an Owner/Operator of my own Daycare in Grand Rapids Michigan. My public school teaching experience began as an Assistant Teacher for an Elementary School in Greensboro NC. I have had the wonderful opportunity of teaching students from preschool all the way to the college level, and I will say that has been rewarding.
I graduated from North Carolina Central University in 1994, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, and in addition, graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina A&T State University with a Master’s Degree in Technology Education.
I began teaching Project Lead The Way in 2011, at Neal Middle school in Durham NC. It was there that I developed a love of teaching Engineering to students. I recently taught PLTW for thirteen years at Centennial middle school in Raleigh, and enjoyed every minute of watching students develop a love of Engineering.
Currently, I teach Advanced Manufacturing I & II (Honors) here at Willow Spring High School. I am excited to show students the different career paths they can explore, and I LOVE taking them on educational field trips where they can experience Manufacturing LIVE!
In my free time, I love spending time with my son, mother, and sister. We love traveling as a family, and our favorite place to visit is Disney World. I call it my "Happy Place".
