Electronic-Free Ideas:

  • READ!

  • Solve math problems on a white board or scrap paper.

  • Brainstorm ways you use math in your every day life.

  • Practice math using dice or playing cards. You can add, subtract, multiply, and/or divide!

  • Make thank you cards for community members, such as first responders.

  • Make a nice hello card for someone at a retirement home (many are under quarantine and not allowed visitors right now).

  • Write and illustrate a story, graphic novel, or comic strip.

  • Do not forget that dancing makes for great exercise! Kids love music!

  • Cook or bake with your child. Bonus points if you find a way to include math!

  • Play card games, board games, and/or put together puzzles. LEGOS!

  • Create a collage on a topic you're learning about using magazines and/or illustrations.

  • Gather materials and enjoy arts and crafts. Extra cardboard boxes around the house? Have your child build something! Have your child create their name out of recycled materials.

  • Make a paper airplane. If several family members make one you can race and make adjustments and improvements as needed.

  • Build a fort using blankets and the furniture.

  • Create a treasure hunt with a map and clues. Or create a scavenger hunt for your family!

  • Study the clouds.

  • Make a chart and record the weather each day. Try to apply concepts we learned from class and add vocabulary when you can.

  • Birdwatch.

  • Build something using toothpicks or straws.

  • Paint rocks with encouraging words.
