About Me

This is my 32nd year of teaching!

I live in Raleigh with my husband, Eric and 4 children; Alex, 28, Kaylee, 27 and Abbie and Abbie both 24. I was born in Missouri, grew up in Wisconsin, NY, and Florida...I love the Packers, Seminoles, the beach, reading, fitness and traveling! I have lived in Raleigh since 1998 and have been at PUE since 2002. 

I have taught Pre-K special education, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade and 2nd grade. I LOVE teaching 2nd grade! I am a National Board Certified Teacher (2006, 2016) and was PUE's Teacher of the Year in 2022. 

I look forward to getting to know all of you this year! You are now a Sensational Sailor. Our motto is that we will never give up, not matter how rough the seas. Positive thinking and growth mindset are paramount to success in 2nd grade.
