About Mrs. Scherschel

I am so excited to be coming back to the park for a 3rd year on the Trailblazers team after having served 17 years as a 7th grade ELA teacher in Illinois. I have held various roles in the schools and the communities I have called home, from coach, to teacher-leader, volunteering with Special Olympics and the Girls on the Run program, to also leading classes as a fitness instructor and personal trainer at local fitness centers. 

Teaching is my passion.

I like to think I bring a vibrant and enthusiastic approach to my instruction and I enjoy challenging and celebrating students in various ways every day. Technology-centered, collaborative, and hands-on activities are utilized in our classroom to engage students on a daily basis. Creating meaningful relationships with the students and showing them how the skills being taught directly relate to the real world is key to our classroom success. 

I am looking forward to watching each student grow, improve, and learn this year as we work through our ELA modules.
