Warm-Ups: At the beginning of each class, students will do a short warm-up, we will go over it, and at the end of the week I'll take them up for a grade. Because we go over the Warm-up together, they will be graded for accuracy.
Homework: Each Monday students will be given a reading passage and a few activities that go along with that reading passage. It will be due on Friday. Homework will be graded for completion.
Binders: Binders can be brought home at anytime to study or go over what we did in class.

About me
I grew up the Cary/Apex area and even graduated from Apex High school. Back in 2002, I started as a Teacher Assistant Special Education and second grade. I wanted to teach Special Education but wanted to get experience as a regular education teacher first. So, in 2006 I began teaching and taught fourth and fifth graders for four years. In 2010, I went to Holly Grove Middle and was there for 10 years. I love middle schoolers, so during that time I directed plays, coached volleyball, coached Science Olympiad, and helped with Winterguard and Student Council. Also during that time, my son was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD. I then realized just how important it is to have caring Special Education teachers to help students and parents. So in 2020 I came to Salem Middle to work in Special Education. I enjoy helping kids learn things they didn't know they could learn, and I enjoy guiding parents through the middle school experience. I look forward to working with you this year!
