Meet Mrs. Parrinello!
Hello Spartans! This is my 3rd year at Salem Middle School as a 7th grade, track 4, science teacher. Since we will be spending a lot of time together this upcoming year, I thought I would share a little bit about myself.
I attended the State University of New York at Cortland and got both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees there. My bachelor’s degree is in Elementary and Middle School Education PreK-9th Grade with a concentration in English. My master’s degree is in Literacy Birth-6th Grade.
My husband and I moved to Holly Springs from NY in 2004, We have a 21 year old daughter named Brooke who will be a senior at NC State, and we have an 18 year old son named Dominick who is starting his first year at Bridgewater College in Virginia.
This will be my 13th year teaching. I spent one year teaching 8th grade in Alamance County, and then, I spent 10 years teaching 3rd grade here in Wake County. I absolutely love teaching, and I can’t imagine having any other career. After teaching in an elementary school for 10 years, I knew it was time to switch to middle school and through a lot of research, I heard that Salem Middle School is one of the very best middle schools around! So, I jumped at the opportunity to become a Spartan as soon as I could.
I am a lover of all things chocolate and peanut butter, the color pink, sloths, going out to dinner with my family (thank goodness my husband can cook or we’d all be in trouble), traveling, taking cruises, spending time at the beach (with my chair just at the edge where the water meets the sand), naps on the weekends, quiet walks alone, reading, and teaching… I just love kids! I have never had a job that didn’t involve children, and I’ve been working since I was 12. Am I crazy? Maybe😂
I’m truly looking forward to a fabulous year ahead!
