"Science is part of the reality of living; it is the what, the how, and the why of everything in our experience"

~Rachel Carson

Welcome to Mills Park Middle School and the sixth grade Bobcats Team! Science has always been my favorite curriculum area, in middle school, high school and even college. I am genuinely looking forward to a rewarding year of hands-on learning and exploration.

I grew up in Winston-Salem but I was born in South Carolina. I moved to Virginia when I attended Norfolk State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I moved back to North Carolina in 2014 and I love it. I have been married for 7 years, I have 1 daughter, 1 son and 1 dog named Hershey.

My interests include cooking, baking, dance, anything DIY, cheer leading, being outdoors and travel. I love to be outside, exploring and I love most sports. This summer I enjoyed working on my wreath making business and spending time with my family.

This is my 7th year teaching in Wake County and I am thrilled to start this year. I have a background that involves biology, chemistry and some medical training. Our science curriculum is so interesting and I simply love sixth grade students and their enthusiasm for learning! Watching the students make connections and discover new things is one of the best aspects of being in the classroom. I look forward to a great year and making lasting memories with the sixth grade class of 2021-2022.
