family

My name is Amber Atkins! I'm so excited to be your CCR teacher this year. My husband, Mr. Lin, and I have been married for almost 11 years. We have a 4 year old doggo named Genius and the cutest 3 year old twins you ever did see (I'm very biased lol)!

Education

I have my B.S. in Elementary Education from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University (2008) and my Masters in Elementary Education from Gardner-Webb University (2013). This year will be my 18th year as a teacher and my 10th year at Sycamore Creek. I taught at 2 other elementary schools in Knightdale before joining the staff at SCES.

*My birthday is June 3rd

* I was on the Carolina Hurricanes Storm Squad for 3 seasons (11-12,12-13,13-14)

*I once had a pet rabbit named Honey D. Bunny

*My mom, Aniya, and I all have the same middle name.

*I started a crochet group/project called "From Auntie With Love" in honor of one of my nephews that passed away not long after being born. We crochet sweet little baby beanies and we donate them to the Neonatal/Newborn Critical Care Unit. I took a little break when I became a mom, but I'm hoping to get back to this soon.
