Welcome to 6th Grade Social Studies

Mrs. Ward is a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. She lives in Fuquay Varina with her husband, two children, and two beagles. Mrs. Ward has taught in Wake County for twenty years and has been teaching at Holly Ridge Middle School since the school opened in 2003. Classwork - 60%

Quizzes/Tests/Projects - 40%

Late Work Policy

Students will receive a 10-point deduction on all work 5 days late and then an additional 10-point deduction for work 10 days late with the possibility of receiving a maximum grade of 80 on late assignments. Late work will be accepted for the first half of the quarter up to 3 days prior to interims and the second half of the quarter up to 3 days prior to the end of the grading period. Late work from the 1st half of the quarter will not be accepted after the interim report period

Classroom Rules

  8. Be safe!

  9. Raise your hand when you would like to speak in class or if you need to leave the classroom for any reason (e.g., going to the bathroom, visiting the nurse, etc.)

  10. Obey all school rules.
