Parent Communication Methods: Email, TalkingPoints
Communications
There are three formats for parents to keep track of what our class is learning. The first format is a weekly blast to parents through TalkingPoints. If you click the link above for "Weekly Updates" you will find a brief summary of what was just completed and the learning goals for the upcoming week.
The second feature is the Google Classroom Guardian Summary. By enrolling as a Guardian in Google Classroom, parents can opt to receive daily or weekly email summaries including:
Missing work—work not turned in when the summary was sent.
Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails).
Class activity—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by the teacher.
The final format to parents to keep track of what our class is doing is through TalkingPoints. I use this to communicate with parents and give reminders and clarifications about assignments. I frequently will send pictures of class projects and activities. Parents have the option to send me messages, similar to a text, or call and I will promptly respond during normal office hours if not before.
Parents/Guardians are encouraged to complete the Contact Format the bottom of this page. This ensures that I have accurate and updated contact information for you. This is incredibly important to maintain successful communication. If you are interested in receiving any or all of the above forms of communication you can specify your preference on this form.
