Ms. Hefner

Hello, and welcome to first grade! My name is Jenn Hefner, and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I have been teaching for 13 years, and this is my third year at Carpenter. I am so excited to be your child’s first grade teacher. I love building classroom community and helping students develop a lifelong passion for learning.

About Me:

I grew up in Durham and attended college at UNC-Charlotte where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  Following graduation, I moved to Raleigh and taught first grade for three years. I then moved to St. Simons Island, GA and spent 10 years there. During that time, I received my Master's Degree in Education as well. My son and I moved back to Raleigh in the summer of 2021 to live close to our family. We are so happy to be here! My son, Greyson is 7 years old and he will be in second grade at Carpenter this year.  I'm so excited for another wonderful year at Carpenter Elementary!
