What play/musical are we doing this year?
TBD! More information coming soon.
Do I have to audition to be in the production?
You must audition to be in the production if you want to be on-stage at all. This means if you want to act, sing, or dance on-stage, you must audition.
Do I have to audition if I want to be in tech?
Mr. Pressley will conduct interviews via a Google Form for students who are interested in being part of the tech crew. There will be a set of questions that I will ask and you must answer. I will give you the set of tech questions prior to the interview, so that you have time to prepare.
What do I need to prepare for auditions?
Actors - Mr. Pressley will give you sides (a set of lines to read) and a song to sing at the audition. Please note that I will announce what song you are expected to sing prior to the audition so that you have time to prepare.
Will everyone who auditions be in the production?
It depends on how many people audition. I would love to cast every single person who auditions for the production, but unfortunately, that is not always possible.
What happens after auditions?
I will post the cast list no later than 1 week following the last audition date. Please note that being a multi-track year-round school, I will have to host multiple audition dates. After the cast & crew list has been posted, students have 48 hours to accept their position before the part will be re-cast.
I can't attend rehearsals because I am tracked out - what do I do?
Notify Mr. Pressley immediately via email. Because we are a multi-track year-round school, it is inevitable that students will have to come to rehearsals while they are tracked out. Mr. Pressley must know of any planned absences when you sign your show contract, and he must approve them. Aside from approved absence dates, students may miss 3 rehearsals without penalty. Any absences beyond 3 may result in removal from the production. Mr. Pressley must know if you are going to miss a rehearsal, regardless of the reason. Please email me and notify me of any absences.
Who do I audition in front of?
A panel of teachers from Herbert Akins Road Middle School, including Mr. Pressley.
