Greetings, My name is Russ Williams and I an your son or daughter's honors physics teacher this semester. I have been teaching science at WHS for 15 years and I am also the head wrestling coach.
Honors physics is 1st period which means that class is from 8:15 AM - 9:00 AM. I am available before class at 7:30 for office hours as well as after school from 2:30-3:30 PM. I will always post notes prior to covering a unit. I will be using google classroom to post notes and assignments to students. The google classroom code is: 2azlzja. I will use the remind app to communicate directly with students. The remind code is: WAKEphys
Honors physics can be a challenging course so I want parents and students to know that I will do what I can to make this time of remote learning as bearable as possible. For any practice problems that I assign I always provide the answers as well. I can also work with students via the Remind app to help guide them through working difficult problems. Students can take a picture of where they are at in working the problem and I can either through text or through my own solution walk them through the next step.
If you have any questions or concerns at any point in the semester please contact me. If you have not already filled out the parent info survey then it can be found here at the bottom of the webpage.
Here is the syllabus for this course although we as a department are still figuring out how we will do laboratory assignments.
This next week we will be covering the basics of motion. Distance, displacement, velocity, and acceleration.
