Students in our Young Adult Literature and Library Media Studies courses have been very busy! Check out the blog posts below, authored by students, to see what they've learned!
Students in all classes completed independent research projects on topics of their choice at the end of second quarter. They learned to use the Big 6 Research Process to scaffold their research with academic journals and sources through our NC Wise Owl databases. The final products were incredibly creative and informative, and the students enjoyed sharing their work. The Digital Learning Coordinators offer excellent Lunch and Learn workshops every Wednesday from 11:30-12:30. The next session is January 6th, titled "Beyond Watching Videos: Student Engagement Through Flipped Learning." Can't make the session? Do you know what Fair Use is and how it applies to your classroom? Do your students comply with copyright law when they complete assignments for your courses? You might need to brush up on your Copyright and Fair Use knowledge, especially with so much of our current work existing online. Watch this video to learn some basics of copyright for teachers, and contact us if you have any specific questions about using materials in your lesson materials or in student work.

If you or your students need access to library materials, curbside pickup is available on a limited basis. Patrons can place holds in Destiny and pickup during school hours. Email Ms. Kraus for details or to schedule a pickup.
