What is summer school?
Summer school is an option for students who have failed one or more core courses to recover credit. It is not for initial credit. It is not for grade replacement if you already passed a class but desire a higher average.
Why should I sign up for summer school?
Recovering credit in summer school helps if you are behind with your required graduation requirements and with promotion to the next grade level.
How do I know if I should sign up for summer school?
View your grades in PowerSchool and look for the grades listed in the F1 column. If the grade is below 60, then you failed the course and may need to repeat the course in summer school. Keep in mind that your yearlong and 2nd semester courses are still in progress, so it's possible you may pass.
*If you have not failed any courses, then you do not need to sign up for summer school.
Which courses are available in the summer school program?
Only specific core classes (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies) are available in summer school.
