Clubs

We finished recruiting for this school year.

The HMS Morning News Team is responsible for creating and producing the broadcast one morning a week which air live into HMS classrooms. The morning broadcast includes school announcements, the pledge, and occasional special features. Club members will be placed on teams and learn each of the roles required for the morning broadcast. This includes but is not limited to: anchor, producer, camera technician, director, and studio grip. Students are required to fill out an application and get a teacher recommendation.  This is open to 7th and 8th graders only.

This student-centered book club is open to all grade levels.  Students make all of the decisions about the club, including what books they read, how they go about sharing what they read and how often they meet. Each grade level has its own book club which meets on Fridays during lunch in the media center. There are three different meetings since there are three grades.  All students are welcome!
