Meet Ms. Carlisi

MyFamily

I'm happily married to my husband Jim.  We met on a blind date that was set up by one of my fellow teachers.  We've been married for 17 years.  Our son Logan is 14 years old and a freshman at Leesville High School in the Game and Design Academy. Our daughter Emily is 10 years old, and she is a 5th grader here at Sycamore Creek..

I grew up in northern Virginia and moved to Raleigh in 2001 after graduating from UVA.  My parents still live in VA.  My brother and his family live in Houston, Texas and my husband's family lives in Ocean City, NJ.  

My Education and Experience

I have taught in WCPSS for 21 years.  I taught 4th grade at Leesville Elementary and Brier Creek Elementary, and then I taught 3rd grade at Sanford Creek Elementary in Rolesville.  This will be my fifth year as a Sycamore Creek crocodile.

I graduated from the University of Virginia with a Masters in Teaching. 

 I earned my National Board Certification in 2009 and I renewed in 2019.  

I also hold a certification in Reading.

I am a Google Certified Level 1 Educator.

I was honored to be the NC PTA Teacher of the Year for the 21-22 school year.

My Favorite Things

I love to spend time with my family.  My husband and I have a monthly date night where we try new restaurants.  We enjoy family traditions like pizza and movie nights on Fridays and family game nights on Sundays.  I enjoy cooking and baking.  I also love to read and I try to read at least one book a month.  I enjoy visits to the beach and trips to Virginia and New Jersey to visit family.
