Welcome to the Media Center!

Mission: 

The mission of the library media and technology program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. The program is designed to support, complement, and enhance the educational philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school.  We make available, through the schools collections, a wide range of print, non-print, and technology resources on varying levels of difficulty with a diversity of appeal compatible with the different needs, interests, and viewpoints of students and teachers.

Lufkin Road Middle School is committed to celebrating our diverse learning community while continuing to foster acceptance and understanding of all stakeholders. Students will be equipped with the skills necessary to grow socially, emotionally, and academically in preparation for their future.   

Goals: 

The school library media center strives to:

• Provide materials and services which meet the information and recreational needs of students.

• Provide opportunities for collaboration between the media specialist and classroom teachers.

• Promote information and digital literacy.
