This website explains about the Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process in Wake County and here at LPES. This process is a system that uses data to ensure that students are receiving the most appropriate academic and behavioral support. There is information about identifying students with disabilities, as well as tips for parents.
Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR) is a website created by Florida State University that provides resources about the science of reading. It is designed for a variety of stakeholders, but check out the For Families section to learn about helpful resources, student activities, and literacy at various stages of a child's life.
Graham Fletcher is a mathematician whose work centers around building foundational math understandings in the classroom. This video explains the difference between memorizing math facts and flexibly thinking about numbers when building students' number sense. It's a short video that helps explain why teach math using certain strategies or methodologies in school instead of simply relying on procedures and memorization.
