About Us
Our Vision:
The vision of the Ligon GT Magnet Middle School Counseling program is to help each of our students become compassionate and productive citizens who reach their full potential by preparing them to become life-long learners interested in pursuing a post-secondary education and/or a career. Our students will develop an understanding of how our diverse school community enhances their individual lives and the community at large. As individuals who understand the importance of diversity, they will be prepared to collaborate with people from all walks of life in our ever changing society.
Our Mission:
The mission of the Ligon GT Magnet Middle School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive counseling program that meets the academic, social/emotional, and career development needs of all our students. We will advocate equity, access, and success for all students by enhancing their gifts and talents and preparing them for productive citizenship as well as post-secondary education and/or a career.
The Ligon Student Services Department includes our school counselors, school social worker, school nurse, school psychologist, and student services assistant. We collaborate to address the needs of all our students.
We understand that these transitional years can be challenging, and we are here to support all our students and families to facilitate a smooth transition from elementary school to middle school and middle school to high school.
