Objective: Students will answer questions about birds after listening to information.

Summary: Students will participate in librarian-led modeling of how to use the PebbleGo database to find answers to questions. Then, they will work in small groups to practice using the resource.

Life Cycle of a Plant Unit: Stop Motion - contributed by Laura Nowak, Apex Friendship Elementary

Duration: 6 days

Objective: Summarize the distinct stages of the life cycle of seed plants by creating a stop motion animation.

Summary: Students will work throughout the course of several class periods to review the life cycle of plants, plan a stop motion animation, create a video, and share it with peers.

Objective: Students will investigate one of the North Carolina Children's Book Award nominees for 2023 and relate it to their learning about ecosystems.

Summary: After reading I'm Trying to Love Garbage, students can watch a Discovery Education video about garbage and then discuss with a small group ways that common items they throw away can be reused or recycled.
