Hi there! My name is Jennie Leavitt and I'll be your child's first grade teacher. I am starting my 16th year of teaching, 15 of which have been at PUE. I am from Florida and a proud graduate of the University of Central Florida. I am married to my wonderful husband, Jeff. We have 2 kids, Morgan and Nathan. Both of my kids attend(ed) UNC-Chapel Hill. My daughter just graduated, my son is a rising sophomore, and both are proud to wear Carolina blue. Go Heels! I’m also a mom of 2 pups, Oakley and Pax. I love to read, garden, travel, and hang with friends and family. My garden is my happy place! I am thrilled to be working with your children this year and am eager to support them in their learning and success!

Hi! My name is Kim Fitzgerald and I am excited to be a first grade IA this year! I am a native North Carolinian and graduated from UNC-CH (go Heels!). I began my education career teaching Pre-K exceptional children and have been working in the public schools for 14 years. The last 9 years have been at PUE! In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading, hiking with my yellow lab, and spending time with my husband and teenage son (who is a proud PUE graduate!)

Mrs. Crum

Hi! I am Rhonda Crum and have been at Pleasant Union since 2011. I am a graduate of East Carolina University and have been an assistant in Special Ed, Kindergarten and 1st Grade.

Some of my hobbies and interests include taking trips to the NC mountains, shopping, and baking!
