The Marching Knights are the most visible group of the Knightdale Band. They perform at community functions, school activities, home football games, the Knightdale Parade, and marching band competitions across the state.
The marching band practices after school on Mondays until 4:30 pm and Tuesdays/Thursdays until 6:00 pm. Check the calendar for details.
The Marching Knights also perform in the Knightdale Parade in December. Parade band is required for the marching band, and band students not in marching band may also join the fun!
The marching band has a "fair share," which is paid for by band parents and/or raised through the Knightdale Band Association.
The Knightdale Jazz Band is in demand in the local and greater community to perform.
The jazz band practices after school, learning a wide variety of music, including swing, funk, latin, blues, rock, hip-hop, and jazz classics.
Honors Band is an audition-only winds group that practices during 4th period. This band performs concerts every nine weeks in the KHS auditorium and performs in the community. These include elementary school music tours, middle school peer-teaching tours, and Veterans Day.

Concert Band practices in 2nd period every day and is the non-honors class for wind players. These students are building their fundamentals and technique.
3rd period Honors Percussion serves two roles. First, they learn all the percussion music for both the concert band and the Honors Band. Additionally, they learn percussion technique and learn percussion-only technique, performing as a percussion ensemble. This band shows off their playing ability on a variety of music where they get to play instruments that might not be available in the other bands. They typically open our home concerts every nine weeks in the auditorium.
