Hello fellow Chargers! My name is Kristin McConnell. I am extremely excited to be apart of the family at Apex Friendship Middle! I am originally from Peoria, Illinois but moved to Cary, North Carolina when I was in elementary school. I am a graduate from NC State (Go Wolfpack!) with majors in Middle School Math and Science Education along with minors in Business Management and Accounting. I have taught for 12 years either at Durant Road Middle School or Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design. After two years in the high school setting, I realized my love is for middle school.

My husband and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary and are currently building our new home in Apex. We have two wonderful fur children, Bonnie and Gracie, and 13 nieces and nephews. Our family means the world to us and we love spending time with them all. When I am not working, I love to spend time doing anything outdoors like hiking, kayaking, water skiing, hanging out at the pool, and going for walks. I am also an avid reader and love spending time at the library or bookstore.

I am looking forward to getting to know the Charger family and building the best middle school! My goal is for all students to be successful in their classes along with growing to become the best person they can be.
