Nominations for the Academically or Intellectually Gifted program are open all year. Parents can nominate their child as can teachers who work with the child. Students who are in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade can be nominated. Once a child is nominated, our School-Based Committee for Gifted Education (SBCGE) will decide whether to refer the student for testing and further data collection.
*Referal does not automatically identify a child for the program; it does mean that we will look closely at the child and their academics to enable us to make a decision.
In addition, there will be universal screening/testing for ALL 2nd grade students in the late winter or early spring. The dates for this will be posted later in the fall.
More information about the Gifted Identification process can be found HERE
